Acupuncture is a safe and natural solution for pain. It is a profoundly effective modality for not just pain relief, but for whole body healing.
How Acupuncture Works
If you had a stream of flowing water with a nice rocky bottom for filtration, you would feel comfortable drinking that water. Imagine that same beautiful pure flowing stream flowing into a stagnant pool that gets warm and collects bacteria, scum, and waste!
Now consider that through our body we have a flowing stream of Qi (pronounced ‘chee’) which is bipolar, electromagnetic energy that courses around and through the body every 24 hours. Think of it like a battery with a positive and negative terminal. Our body is electrical just as much as it’s chemical and neurological. Every cell has a voltage gate to let nutrition in and waste products out. Most people are sick at a cellular level; the sewer is backed up in the cell and waste products are not getting out! So acupuncture corrects that. When you have pain and inflammation in a particular area, you can be sure the energy flow, or qi, is stagnated in that area. Acupuncture takes the stagnation away, dramatically increases circulation, and allows inflammation to drop. Real healing happens when qi moves freely, which is the function of acupuncture.
Acupuncture as Opioid Replacement
When someone has abused opiates, their natural opiate producing centers in the brain get shut down. In fact, many people that receive acupuncture on their first visit are neurotransmitter deficient. These people are just getting by, surviving rather than thriving, and seeing life through a black and white lens rather than color.
A letter from the Joint Acupuncture Opioid Task Force, Acupuncture Now Foundation and the American Society of Acupuncturists outlines several benefits of acupuncture in the midst of the opioid crisis, stating “acupuncture has the potential to reduce or even in some cases eliminate the need for opioids and non-opioid drugs while also helping to treat opioid addiction.” Researchers believe acupuncture can replace opioids through stimulating the production of the human body’s “endogenous opioids” – using the body’s own chemistry to mirror or exceed the benefits of synthetic drugs without the risk of side effects. Acupuncture Delivery Methods
Acupuncture is delivered with or without needles. As an alternative to needles, Dr. Wayne uses an auriculotherapy machine to stimulate nerve points on the ear with a tiny microcurrent. When needles are used, he inserts hair-thin needles in a particular pattern associated with the body’s meridians into the patient’s skin. The needles remain for about 20 minutes. Both methods are extremely effective with immediate benefits.
Dr. Wayne has performed acupuncture to alleviate and correct low back pain, neck pain, treat digestive disorders, hormone imbalances, turn breach babies…and many other health concerns and problems.
